These governors are not sufficiently aware that “in China’s state-monopoly system of Leninist ‘capitalism,’ its corporations are instruments of national policy, fully integrated with, and subservient to, the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA).”
Such a Deal! -- Why isn’t Congress talking about eliminating foreign aid? Anything that does not eliminate bureaucracy is a farce. This would not be the first time we have defaulted, even if we did so after August 2. Also some comments on Peru, Norway, and Al Qaeda.
In his July 27th column, Clarence Page mentioned The John Birch Society right alongside the Ku Klux Klan. This is a very unjust type of smear. By merely mentioning the KKK with the Society, many readers will conclude that the two organizations are similar. Nothing could be further from the truth.

UPDATE, August 2, 2011: The House passed the bipartisan debt ceiling deal (S. 365) 269 to 161 on August 1. The Senate passed S. 365 by 74 to 26 just after noon today. President Obama has already signed it into law.
