Re-submit the Arizona Criminal Trespass Bill

Here is the text of a hand-written letter I sent to Arizona Governor Jan Brewer about the Criminal Trespass Bill.  The legislature is still in special session trying to resolve the budget crisis.  The legislature can only consider bills submitted by the governor.

 Dear Governor Brewer:

Please submit the Criminal Trespass Bill to the legislature as part of the budget solution.  I will certainly not consider voting for any tax increase proposition unless that bill has been passed, signed, and effectively enforced first.
The state should have acted long ago to add the resources of local law enforcement agencies to the struggle against illegal immigration.  Law abiding Arizonans have paid a very high price for this negligence.  Our taxes are higher, our wages are lower, and we are less safe than we would have been.
Please do not expect my support next year unless this bill is passed.
        John J. Lyon
