Good News Report June 2010

A certain hotel in Parsippany, New Jersey, hosted the latest JBS Council Dinner on May 1. Despite competing noise from a sorority function and a wedding reception, Birchers persevered and made the best out of a rough situation. Attending member Larry Burke offered the following summation of the event for those who could not attend:

Mr. Sam Antonio began the seminars by relating his assignment to create a presence on college campuses of the newly formed Campus Liberty Alliance, our effort to combat the Marxist culture infecting our youth. Sam spoke of his experiences at San Diego State University.

Lunch followed with fellowship and fun.

John McManus started the afternoon session with a lecture on conspiracy: the New World Order, its existence and history.

Clark Curry followed giving us the good news of our success in Oklahoma, and how we have stopped the NAFTA Highway at its southern border. Birch influence in the State House is an example of what can be achieved in other states, if we duplicate that effort.

Bob Unger lectured on the situation in Israel and how even the Likud (“conservative”) Party sent goon squads of police to beat up and murder religious Jews.

Concluding the session, Dave Giordano, a Section Leader in south Jersey, taught us how he dramatically increased the attendance at his video showings.

Later that evening, more than three hundred were seated for the Council Dinner. The program kicked off with a prayer by Rev. Steven Craft, Pledge of Allegiance, and National Anthem. John McManus acted as master of ceremonies with his usual reworked jokes.

Jim Perloff spoke on “Evolution” and its use to undermine morality.

Sheriff Mack from Arizona related his effort in taking his concerns all the way to the Supreme Court and had the Brady Bill mandates reversed. Big victory for a small town sheriff and a victory for the 10th Amendment.

Art Thompson concluded the program talking about the difference the JBS is making all across the country.

Rev. David Manning ended the program with a benediction and his remarks on the first formal JBS event he had attended, after which we all sang “God Bless America.”

Many members lingered in the outer room where there was almost 100 feet of book tables loaded with books, DVDs, bumper stickers, etc.

Someone remarked about how both pastors prayed with such emotion that it was contagious, moving everyone.

SO THAT’S WHAT YOU MISSED. BE THERE NEXT TIME!

Thank you to our New Jersey chapters for all their hard work, and thank you to all those who attended. See you in Oklahoma in October!
