Good News Report July 2010

Once again, The John Birch Society will be exhibiting at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit to be held July 25-28 in Louisville, Kentucky. We plan to assemble a double booth similar to the one that we had at CPAC earlier this year. One booth will house literature and the other will house a small studio to video interviews with attendees.

Local members will be working with the Field and Headquarters Staff to ensure a successful booth. Many of the new promotional literature pieces that debuted at CPAC will be given away to interested booth visitors, as well as newer issues of The New American magazine.

The theme for the NCSL Legislative Summit is “Strong States Strong Nation.” Obviously JBS believes strongly in this theme as well and will be featuring all of our materials from the “Choose Freedom — Stop ObamaCare” campaign, as well as materials promoting the dangers of a Constitutional Convention, and highlighting illegal immigration, nullification, and the Constitution.

We will be offering state legislators and their staffs a free electronic subscription to The New American to help them stay on top of some of the hot button issues affecting their constituents, from a Constitutional perspective of course.

Representatives from our Liberty News Network will be on hand to conduct and record interviews from the floor of the show as well as from approved portions of the summit program.

If you are attending, stop by booth #221. We’d love to meet any state legislators, especially those who are members.

Another exciting event we are proud to be a part of is Tom DeWeese’s Freedom Action National Conference, to be held August 12-14, at the Dolce Hotel in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The John Birch Society is co-sponsoring this event along with 23-plus other organizations, including American Association of Physicians and Surgeons, American Policy Center, and Gun Owners of America.

The conference’s theme is “The Forces of Freedom Return to Valley Forge,” and it offers a forum for attendees to network and learn how to responsibly stand against the growing threat of government encroachment in order to regain lost individual freedom.

A number of speakers have been confirmed including Sheriff Richard Mack, Thomas Woods, Tom DeWeese, Larry Pratt, Dr. Jane Orient, Mark Lerner, Michael Badnarik, and our own Bill Jasper and Larry Greenley. Bill will be speaking about the inner workings of the Federal Reserve and its connections to the push for global currency and destruction of the dollar, as well as the push to audit the secretive operation. Larry will be speaking with Chuck Michaelis on “Why We Must Stop the Con Con,” in regards to the push for a constitutional convention.

We encourage those who are able to attend to please do so. Register at http://freedomactionconference.com/go/jbs. If you register through this link, JBS receives a small commission to help us offset the costs for the conference.
