I sent the following e-mail to Arizona State Senator Robert Burns regarding SCR1038, the State Sovereignty Resolution:

I hope you will do all you can to ensure quick passage of SCR 1038.  I have very little confidence in the federal government's ability to promote Arizona's best interests.  On balance, I feel that our state would be safer and more prosperous without Washington's "help."  When it comes to fighting crime, fighting poverty, protecting the environment, etc., I would prefer for Arizona to learn how to help itself as much as possible under the law.  I hope that over time the federal government can be persuaded to return to the states some of the powers it has usurped over the years.
I would be very pleased to learn that you plan to schedule this important measure in the near future.  Please let me know.
