Unfortunately, I now believe this warning is about to rear it's ugly head. The state of our economy is now the excuse for those in power pushing for government centralization, control of the masses and dismissal of civil liberties. All indications point to this, we only need to ignore the controlled, liberal media and simply open our eyes. But the blood spilled by the colonists establishing our great nation was not in vain. In fact, TNA published a detailed analysis and prediction of the housing bust (including the fatal corruption of Fannie and Freddie) in its May 17, 2004 issue ("Will the Housing Bubble Burst?"). And months earlier than that, JBS published a book containing a detailed analysis of the forthcoming collapse and the ongoing pauperization of what had been the middle class entitled "America's Engineered Decline." Admittedly, it would be problematic to mention those two contributions, given that they were written by someone JBS management threw under the bus, and whose name they would prefer to cast down the Memory Hole. - William N. There is a small but substantial seed of optimism buried deeply in his jeremiad -- the prospect of another economic revival based on a technological revolution akin to the advent of wide-scale Internet access in the early 1990s. Elsewhere he has suggested that the development of cold fusion technology, or perhaps even "zero-point" energy, could bring about an economic recovery. I'd dismiss these suggestions (especially the latter) were it not for the fact that Celente seems to be an exceptionally astute and well-informed observer. - William N.
