- - - build giant squirrel cages/treadmills, jerk all the politicians and bureaucrat pigs and swine out of their tax payer provided offices and make them walk the tredmills/squirrel cages which will be attached to electric generators. That would give them some honest, real work to do and would provide cheap, clean electricity. - danwhitehead1

Blowhards from DC will only cause the units to wind backwards. Have not we wasted enough time fooling around with the bunch we now have. Time to renew with new "green" people who have AMERICA (USA)at heart and patriotic zeal to drive these pandering politicos out of DC for good and forever. Come soon 2010!. Americans put your trust in GOD alone and vote roll over every time. Perhaps not the only solution but never reelecting an incumbent will put new blood there regularly and put a dent in the thieves like rangel geithner types!!! A FOUNDING PRINCIPLE IN THE CONSTITUTION to
remove the problem we now find in Washington short of force removal!!! - Ken Creech

First Wind LLC (formerly UPC) received a $115.4 million grant, and five projects owned by Iberdrola — the Spanish firm that purchased Rochester Gas and Electric Corp. last year — were given a total of $295 million.

First Wind has ties to the administration of President Barack Obama. A New York City hedge fund, D.E. Shaw & Co., is a major investor in First Wind, according to statements issued in recent years by First Wind. Lawrence H. Summers, who now heads Obama's National Economic Council, was a compensated managing director at D.E. Shaw before leaving late last year.

The firm's founder, David E. Shaw, is a member of Obama's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
