A Project for Constitution Day — September 17

The federal law establishing Constitution Day mandates that all publicly funded educational institutions provide educational programming about the history of the American Constitution on September 17. And the U.S. Department of Education has stated that this requirement applies to any school receiving federal funds of any kind.

Teachers are customarily looking for something to fulfill this requirement. Nothing does a better job than our Overview Of America DVD.

All members should immediately contact teachers at high school and junior high school levels (see sample letter below) and offer them a copy of our DVD. It will fulfill the requirement each instructor faces and will surely stimulate the kind of discussion that all teachers hope to achieve.

Sales of this single DVD have already exceeded 75,000 and are still climbing. This number does not include both group showings and views on YouTube that have reached many more than the number of DVDs sold.

The extensive showings of this excellent DVD have given JBS enormous exposure and a great deal of accompanying good will.

Sample Letter

Dear Sir or Madam:
As you are undoubtedly aware, Congress passed
legislation in 2004 requiring education about the U.S.
Constitution to be given to students on Constitution Day,
September 17.

I (We) enclose a free copy of an excellent half-hour DVD
dealing with this very topic. It has already been shown in
some schools where it has stimulated excellent discussion
from the students.

Please preview it yourself and, when you see its contents,
I (we) expect that you will want to show it in your
classes.

Thank you very much.
Sincerely
Mary Birch or John Citizen for the Committee
