Note to Warren and Dennis, I think we should include a screen shot of the Letters From Congress page. But, this should not be done until after "show article title" is activated in Joomla for the three articles on the right hand side of the LFC page. Other item to note: Through the February bulletin we have used the same Freedom Campaign logo for the bulletin as we use on the JBS Meetup Alliance. Currently, there is a new image (logo?) in use for the Freedom Campaign on the website. So we don't confuse members, the March bulletin should have a Freedom Campaign logo that reconciles with the what is used on the website. Jim Letters From Congress campaign re-launches
When we introduced the Letters From Congress concept 18 months ago, we received a high level of support from our membership. Within a few months our Appleton headquarters was overwhelmed trying to keep up with letters from Congressmen sent to us for posting on our website. Between the time it took to scan letters into digital format, load them into our database, and place them in some organized fashion that could easily be searched on our old web 1.0 site, we just didn’t have the available man-hours to keep up. Recognizing we needed to move the Letters From Congress campaign into a decentralized, volunteer-led effort, we moved the campaign over to our newly forming JBS.org Meetup Groups. While this opened the process up for direct control by active members in statewide Meetup Groups, it did not solve the problem of the time and training it took to upload letters into an easily searchable system. Fortunately, over this same period of time, a new company on the web was in the process of building a system that would meet our needs. YouTube for documents Most people are familiar with the technology for sharing videos on-line that has made YouTube (now owned by Google) a phenomenon on the Internet. There has been a missing link though. What about all the useful knowledge that is not in video format? Enter Scribd.com. Scribd bills itself as “the YouTube for documents.” It offers its users the same interactive experiencefor documents that the world has become familiar with for videos. Having monitored the development and growth of the Scribd.com site over the last year, we are confident this is a technology and company with the staying power we need to make Letters From Congress a success. The concept, broadcasting congressmen’s positions on key issues, in their own written words shared with constituents, has always been powerful. Now, we have the technology to make it work. Take a quick tour of our re-energized Letters From Congress campaign at: Note: For those of our members that prefer reading educational material rather watching videos, we encourage you to also browse around the scrib.com website. In the search bar on the site, type in “North American Union, CFR or New World Order. You will quickly see the value of having a place on the Internet where you can share and discuss documents with others. |
