There has been some talk about adding a FAQ section to the JBS website. Input is needed to see what type of questions/answers should be included as FAQ's. Here is a short starter:
I have encountered people, and have even seen some recent posts indicating the the JBS has or should campaign or endorse some individual for public office. Having been around long enough to know that is NOT the case, nor should it ever be so, perhaps it would be a good idea to 1) put to rest the idea that the JBS endorses one candidate over another, and 2) explain the rationale for that (very sensible) policy.
A companion FAQ would be to briefly outline the purpose(s) of the JBS. I know that in a very tiny nutshell it would be informational/educational, but that could certainly be expanded upon to provide a coherent understanding of the JBS.
A general overview of the organizational structure of the JBS (without giving out information best kept close for the obvious reasons of discouraging infiltration).
Just my two bits...

I totally agree. I'm the guy that has to build it, and my schedule at the moment is booked, but I'll get to it as soon as I can.

I am sure Publius does indeed have his hands full!

It is for this very reason we should help him out by assembling a pool of suggestions for FAQ section content. In fact, duplicate suggestions from various people should not be discouraged, as this would be useful in determining demand for a particular topic.

No input (or low input) could be interpreted as lack of interest. Lack of interest detracts from priority. Lower priority lessens the possibility of ever getting a FAQ section.

Besides, Publius shouldn't have to do ALL the work!

Great ideas.

Yes, Publius has more than enough on his "To Do List!"

Let's help.  Where should we post questions?  Will a group be formed for this?

Thanks!

There have been a lot of lookers, but ZERO suggestions.

Surely someone has an idea of what they would like to see in a FAQ section. Maybe when you first joined you had a question. You eventually learned the answer, but it could have been easier.

What was that question you had? Was it a "dumb" question? Maybe not as dumb as you think.

Help the site. Help new members. Make some suggestions.

Nothing dumb about it.  I for one have just been busy and honestly forgot.
Glad you brought it up again.

I'm sure the staff's feedback on what they are asked is a better guide then my suggestions.  For what it's worth, these are some things I think would be good.  Most of which are untrue by the way so you newbies don't let the saboteurs win!  Don't shake your head and never come back.

JBS is racist.
JBS is anti Semitic.
Position on Masons.
Position on Religions.
Eustace Mullins's comments about Welch.
Welch calling Eisenhower a communist.
Gertz v. Robert Welch, Inc.
McManus on Catholics or whatever that deal was.
G. Vance Smith

Membership is private so I don't know about this one.  It would be neat to have a list of famous and/or powerful Birchers.  Perhaps just noting the "open" famous and powerful Birchers?  Maybe expelling the rumors of other famous people were supposedly Birchers, like Bush Sr.

A sentence that there's been Birchers in every elected position of government except the Senate and President.

It would be nice to have a brief time line of history in general.

A list of successes and key efforts.

I think the JBS will stay away form issues of a private nature, internal matters and member concerns.  Those things get explained well in HQ letters to the membership and by State Coordinators.  I listed McManus and Smith because they were big wigs and the nature of the business.

(rpew, how about your suggestions?)

My suggestions: not as long a list, but right there in the very first post! But here is a recap:
Brief history of the JBS.
Does or has JBS ever endorsed a candidate for office? (Naturally, the answer is "no", but it can be briefly expounded upon, i.e., rationale.)
What is the purpose of the JBS.
What is the (general) organizational structure of the JBS?

The list is short, but covers a lot of ground. For example, when answering what the purpose of the JBS IS, it also opens a door to a long list of what JBS IS NOT.

Maybe the thing to do would be to organize the FAQ into a shorter list of "Categories", such as History, Structure, Purpose, Resource Availability, etc., with specific questions in each category. Perhaps a Membership category with questions like 1) Why should I become a member?, 2) How do I become a member?, 3) Where can I obtain a list of members? (You CAN'T, and here is the reason why.), 4) How much does membership cost, and what do I get for my money?, 4) Can I request to meet with a local coordinator before deciding whether or not to join?
