The purpose of the JBS is to educate and inform people on our history, our heritage, and a better understanding of current events as they relate to our lives, our liberties, and our pursuits of happiness. One of the things concerning our history and heritage is the Judeo-Christian influence that was so instrumental in the foundations of our government. On that topic, you will oft encounter this statement from John Adams: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
I think that if you did a survey of the staff and membership of the JBS, you would find a very significant number to show an affinity to religious worship (particularly Judeo-Christian worship) and a respect for (if not devotion of) the Bible.
But you must not forget the objective of the JBS. It is not to spiritually motivate or influence people. Nor, I dare say, should you forget the objectives of your local church, which IS to spiritually motivate and influence.
There are three things needed for our freedom to prevail:
1. There needs to be a republican form of government. (That is our Constitution)
2. There needs to be a free market economy with a sound money supply.
3. There needs to be a moral and religious people.
The JBS is addressing the first two items. It is the responsibility of our churches (and the people in them) to accomplish the third.
You wouldn't expect your lawyer and your pastor to both be the same person, would you? You need both, and they are both best if they stick to what they do best.
