Update, July 26. Today the Senate passed H.R. 3221, the housing bailout bill, by 72 to 13 (Roll Call #186). President Bush will sign quickly. The bill had already been passed by the House by 272 to 152 on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 (Roll Call #519).

Act now to help stop another huge round of inflation of the dollar! This bill (H.R. 3221) would obligate the federal government to assume responsibility for hundreds of billions, if not trillions, of dollars in home loans held by housing loan giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

H.R. 3221, the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008, was passed by the House 272-152 on Wednesday, July 23, 2008. The Senate is planning to vote on this housing bill on July 26th, so contact your senators in opposition to H.R. 3221 immediately.
