The John Birch Society
The Republican National Committee (RNC) has violated its own rules to marginalize Ron Paul delegates and to effectively prevent any dissenting man or message from penetrating the thick veil of control draped by the Establishment over the nominating process.
The chairman of the Republican Party's Platform Committee said Sunday that the GOP is a "pro-life party" that takes no stand on whether there should be a "rape exception" to restrictions on abortion or abortion funding. The pro-life plank adopted by the committee made no mention of exceptions, a point host George Stephanopoulos raised on ABCs This Week with Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, who chaired the proceedings of the Platform Committee last week.
Strict lead-based paint regulations imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have resulted in costly fines to businesses and landlords looking to sell or rent their property. “Thinking of renting or selling a home or apartment?” the EPA asked in a press release in April 2010, when its Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) rule went into effect. “Make sure you disclose its lead-based paint history. Mr. Wolfe Landau did not and it cost him a $20,000 fine.”
"End the Fed!" "Bring them Home!" "No More War!" "Revolution!" If your idea of fun doesn’t include hearing these phrases shouted in unison by 10,000 people, then be happy you weren’t in Tampa, Florida, at the rally at the University of South Florida’s Sun Dome on Sunday night, August 26.
In his final column as Public Editor for the New York Times, Arthur S. Brisbane concluded that the paper's progressive world view "bleeds through" every department of the paper. But it’s certainly not because of any conspiracy, says Brisbane, just a meeting of like minds in promoting a worldview that editors and writers share: urbane, worldly, and flexible.
Pro-life Democrats will continue their efforts to get the party to ease up on its abortion-at-any-cost plank that has been a prominent part of its platform for many years. As reported by LifeNews.com, officials with the Democratic National Committee rejected efforts by a group calling itself Democrats for Life of America (DFLA) to persuade the party to consider a less aggressive stance on the issue.
As the GOP assembles in Tampa for the Republican National Convention, delegates have adopted a plank for the platform rejecting the imposition of United Nations taxes on Americans or UN control over the global monetary system, pointing out that the scandal-plagued global body has proven itself wasteful and incompetent. Activists celebrated the move, but some national GOP officials said it should have gone further, noting that the UN is absolutely determined to infringe on U.S. sovereignty.
Neil Armstrong was a quiet hero in an age of antiheroes. In an era that made cult heroes of amoral spies and cops who broke the rules, of James Bond and Dirty Harry Callahan, Neil Armstrong was the engineer who peacefully conquered a remote outpost of "the Last Frontier."
There is a world of difference between classroom teaching and one-on-one tutoring. I’ve experienced both and know the difference. Classroom teaching is more a job of mob management, endless record keeping, mandated testing, and following government instructions rather than actual teaching. A room full of rambunctious children out to defy you can turn teaching into a game with winners and losers. Frustration is the main emotion experienced by classroom teachers. Besides, most of today’s teachers have been badly prepared by their colleges of education. Which is why they are so poor at teaching the basics and why test scores continue to reflect the lack of genuine learning that takes place in too many of today’s public schools.
Our children may be learning to be more than just bilingual at their elementary schools’ language immersion program. Since 2006 the federal government has spent millions to turn elementary schools around the country into training centers for future government intelligence agents.
