Barack Obama's great rhetorical gifts include the ability to make the absurd sound not only plausible, but inspiring and profound.  His latest verbal triumph was to say on July 13th, "if you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own." As an example, "Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business — you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."
President Obama’s illegal-alien uncle, Onyango Obama, received a stay of deportation following his drunk driving arrest in August. The elder Obama appears to be the beneficiary of his nephew’s deportation moratorium, which President Obama issued in August, and which in turn appeared after the director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, John Morton, ordered his underlings to use “prosecutorial discretion” in deporting illegals.
Fairness is ensured only when we recognize and apply eternal principles. More and more, however, they — and even obvious physical reality — are denied in the name of political correctness and what feels right.
As the “Fast and Furious” federal gun-running scandal continues to grow, top Republican lawmakers and concerned analysts are crying foul after Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) boss B. Todd Jones was caught making statements perceived as a threat against agents who blow the whistle. Trying to stop or retaliate against whistleblowers who expose unlawful actions, of course, violates federal law.
Twenty-four-year-old James Holmes opened fire in a theater in Aurora, Colorado, early Friday morning, killing 12 and wounding 38 more. The incident is under investigation.
The president of Chick-fil-A, Dan Cathy, son of the chain's founder Truett Cathy, the fast-food chain that has been attacked by homosexual activists for its moral and biblical stand on marriage, has put the company in the cross hairs of cultural controversy once more for re-affirming its commitment to traditional family values.
Have you ever heard of a tech company called Neustar? Probably not, and that’s just the way the government wants to keep it. Neustar is a relatively new company that is playing a large, albeit secret, role in the expansion of the surveillance state. According to published reports, Neustar handles the law enforcement surveillance and user data requests for over 400 telecommunications companies. To accommodate their clients’ demands, Neustar maintains a database containing information on every cell phone in the United States — including yours.
From his grant of amnesty to his shuttering of border patrol stations, President Obama is doing all he can to help those illegally present in the United States to have every incentive to pull the lever for him in November.
A group of parents in Highland Park, Michigan, have sued the public schools in their district for failing to teach their children to read as required by state law. The suit is being filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, which is part of the Progressive movement that has deliberately dumbed-down the American public education system.
STOCKHOLM — After walking some 120 miles over six days in the “Walk to Freedom” as a protest against Sweden’s controversial new ban on homeschooling, a passionate group of persecuted Swedish homeschoolers and their supporters boarded a ferry to Finland on Friday in pursuit of educational liberty. The walk, which drew some three dozen participants overall, was aimed at attracting more attention to the unprecedented wave of Swedish political refugees created by the Nordic Kingdom’s draconian education regime.
