Victory is what we seek in our many spiritual, intellectual, and political battle fronts today.  Shouldn't we share and celebrate our victories when they are won, even if they are only victorious battles or skirmishes?  Even if a victory is not the total victory of winning the entire war for restoration of our Christian-style civilization, it's worth sharing, isn't it?  Your victories, when I hear of them, hearten me, but also often inspire me to a new creativity to see actions that bring about new victories of my own when I work with others.

Let me tell you of a victory I was privy to this past week.  As The John Birch Society Regional Field Director for nine western states, I spend a good deal of time working with JBS Coordinators in their respective territories. Last week, my time was spent with Coordinator Duane Wildie as we worked in various cities in California together.   We met with JBS members and volunteer leaders in Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Napa, Vacaville, Fairfield, and other cities southwest of Sacramento.

As you know, The JBS Headquarters (JBS HQ) has been leading an educational campaign exposing the Federal Reserve System banking monopoly for decades with the publishing of such books as the 1993 "Financial Terrorism" and the first edition of The Creature from Jekyll Island published in 1994. But, with the last couple of years of economic meltdown gripping the minds of Americans, the campaign has really taken off and even been adopted as the basis for new groups springing up to oppose fiat money.

In the January 5^th, 2009, issue of THE NEW AMERICAN, an incredible article was published that  in only a few pages laid out the case against the Federal Reserve System and for a return to the Constitutional provisions and prohibitions the governments in our land were tasked with or prohibited from.

Edwin Vieira, Jr., who has won three cases in the Supreme Court of the United States, in an article titled "A Crisis of Dollars and Sense," actually laid out his case for a return to gold and silver, a restoration of our sound money system, and the law behind it.  Dr. Vieira's skillfully crafted article cites the Constitution, the federal statutes, case law, and historical facts to support his case for restoring America's commodity money and vanquishing the fiat money, the paper money, of the Federal Reserve system.

At the urging of John F. McManus, and others, the JBS HQ brought back Dr. Vieira's article in an inexpensive reprint form as a tool for JBS members and allies to use in educating lawmakers, opinion molders, political activists, and the voting public about the truth concerning the money system that underpinned America's meteoric economic ascension to a height surpassing all the known economies of history for productivity, creativity, and the comfortable benefits of stability in our nation.  (The reprint is available right now from http://www.shopjbs.org/ )

Coordinator Wildie talked with each JBS Chapter Leader, businessman, JBS member, prospect, or group that we called upon during the week about the uses to which the article could be put. The first victory was with a small businessman in Napa. His business is a second generation supplier for the auto and truck market. As we three sat in his office discussing the campaign to restore sound money, he exhibited an attitude of defeat, claiming that there was nothing we could do, that the money power was too entrenched and we could never get back to gold and silver. 

We pointed out that when the Federal Reserve System's unbacked paper-currency supply increase brings hyperinflation and is thus entirely devalued as money, that gold and silver will actually make a renewed appearance from safety deposit boxes, home safes, and mattresses naturally as a medium of exchange in desperate times, just before a global order presses a new global monetary authority upon us. Should we wait until that crisis or try to prevent it now by abolishing the legal tender laws, the federal reserve system, and substitute a situation where types of money may compete side by side in a free market place? Would we be better off  educating Americans and their law makers to the truth about gold and silver as a store of wealth now so they can see the deceptions built up over decades by the Central bankers or should we wait until a new global central bank is empowered?  That was our first call of the week together and our first victory as the business owner purchased 200 copies of the reprint to distribute with his own personal endorsement.

Throughout the week, besides other topics, Duane always made a point to get back to the ways that the reprinted article could be used to change public understanding and the impact that could have on American minds if we each took responsibility in our own community to spread the truth.  Soon his supply of 400 copies of the reprint were sold out. He ordered another 600 copies from http://www.shopjbs.org/ and we went back to work selling them in advance of the order even arriving. By the time he put me on the plane on Friday, he had sold that 600 as well. So 1,000 copies were going out into those communities to bring understanding and expose a long hidden fiat-money cancer in America's economic system.

Today, Monday, March 23, 2009, I spoke with Duane on the phone. Since I left on Friday morning, March 19^th, he has sold so many more of the reprint that he had to order another 1,000 copies!  That means he's already gone through 2,000 copies of the reprint in that area of California alone. That's a series of minor victories all adding up to a huge victory for truth in those communities which the distribution will effect.

His actions and victories spurred me to action as well. So Saturday, when I finished with a radio show guest spot, I prepared 27 letters to JBS Chapter Leaders across Utah with a copy of the same reprint included in each envelope. The letter told them of what Duane's JBS members were working on in California to spread the truth using the reprinted article "A Crisis of Dollars and Sense" to improve the understanding of thousands. 

My own letters urged each leader to convince their chapter members to purchase at least 100 copies for distribution in support of our Sound Money Resolution which we hope to convince Utah's Legislators to sponsor and pass in the 2010 session. If each chapter does as asked, that will be 2,700 more of the reprints before Americans in yet another state.  My mind raced at the idea of all the other states where similar brushfires of freedom could spring up to expose the Fed.  I hardly slept that night with the excitement of the vision of victory against the banksters that filled my mind.

Now, today, thanks to the inspiration from Duane and the Californians who were buying the reprints, I've told this story to all of my JBS Coordinators for the nine states of our western region. They too can begin setting more brushfires to help incinerate the worthless monopoly money, Federal Reserve Notes, and to replace them with honest money again, just as the Founding Fathers did when they replaced the worthless "continental fiat money," so we can once again proudly say that the American dollar is "as good as gold."

Let me also mention that right away Robin Smith, our JBS Speakers Bureau Chairman for Salt Lake City, caught the vision from my letter and emails that went out this past weekend.  He set about helping me to build the brushfire in Utah. He had earlier seen to it that we formed a new ad hoc committee to carry out some of the work for this sound money campaign. He formed the first "Good as Gold Committee" to distribute the inexpensive "Dollars and Sense" DVD to Utah's 104 state legislators.

Now he jumped in to help me with an introductory letter to be attached to each reprint to introduce it to those who are recipients of Dr. Vieira's case. Who should our members target for sharing the reprint with?  Here's the list if you'd like to spread the brush fire into your  state and community to expose the Federal Reserve System, to demand support for an audit through passage of H.R. 1207 and abolition of the Federal Reserve System through passage of H.R. 833.

Share the reprint with your U.S. Senators, your U.S. Representatives, your state Legislators, your state Governor, your State Attorney General, local city attorneys, your mayor, city councilmen, county commissioners, local lenders, political party leaders and precinct chairmen, local or national radio talk show hosts, TV newsmen in your state, newspaper editors and reporters, and church leaders, for these are all examples of opinion molders. 

But don't stop there for we need the voters as well to understand what a great and free system of money we once had that served as a trustworthy store of wealth so they can contrast it with the untrustworthy paper money supply we've been cursed with that is inflated in order to rob us or our wealth.

Let's share the reprinted article with our family doctor, our CPA, dentist, our children's dentist, the pharmacist, our landlord, our plumber, our chiropractor, optometrist, our children's teachers, local university professors, our barber or beautician, the handyman we hire, our neighbors, our immediate family, our extended family, our fiends we go bowling with, or golfing with, or camping with, the gas station attendant, and the leaders of groups to which we belong (i.e. fraternal groups, home-school groups, veterans groups, pro-life groups, church groups, or others). How about the people on our Christmas card list, would any of them see a benefit from reading the article? Could we convince them to write congress too?

Finally, I noted that the County Republican Party Convention would soon convene. What if all over our state JBS members and allies gathered at these county conventions and distributed the reprint to the thousands of delegates that would be entering the conventions? Those men and women are all political activists. They can be brought to an understanding, right? So out went another email across Utah to JBS leaders and members of our Freedom Campaign Meetup groups. Wow, what an opportunity we can capture at those conventions! Carpe diem!

We can each be the catalyst that molds the public perception of America regarding honest money vs dishonest money if we follow Duane's lead; if we follow that businessman's lead in California; if we follow Robin Smith's lead; if we each take civic responsibility to make a better world. We can slay the Federal Reserve System money cartel dragon if we roll up our sleeves and do the work necessary, and then, with God's help, we can slay the dragon!
