Report from the North by Lionel Terzi, Regional Field Director Though titled "From the North," this report actually covers the Upper Midwest and Rocky Mountain States. We have established four JBS.org/Freedom Meetups, one each in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Idaho. We plan five more in the next several weeks to expand our efforts in more states. Our members and friends in Idaho under the direction of coordinators Dale Pearce and Chick Heileson have a new resolution introduced in the Idaho legislature to repeal NAFTA. As of this writing, the resolution is in the state senate. JBS Members in Indiana, in coalition with a state anti-illegal immigration organization successfully testified and had passed by both houses of the Indiana assembly a bill to help control and hopefully eliminate illegal immigration in Indiana. The bill is now before a joint state House and Senate committee. The Indiana action demonstrated the effect of having and combining 1: good chapters; 2: a statewide JBS Meetup; and 3: rapid communications. Kudos to Indiana coordinator Tom Rice for fast reaction to rapidly changing events and to our chapters and members who led the charge and gave solid support to this effort. Our new Freedom Generation youth camp in Streator, Illinois, looks like a winner. HQ AOF staff and the camp director recently inspected the camp and anticipate a very successful and rewarding camp this summer. Plan to attend. Visit www.FreedomGen.org. |
