From the West

Outreach is essential to growth. Salt Lake/Ogden Speakers Bureau Chairman Robin Smith rallied local JBS members to attend a huge rally at the Utah State Capitol on August 8th. About 1,500 Utahns gathered at the State Capitol Building in Salt Lake City to voice their demand to “Take Back Utah.”  They distributed copies of the September 19, 2005 “20 Years of Truth” issue of TNA, copies of the reprint Endangered Property Rights, copies of the “End the Fed” slim jims, and many announcements of the upcoming speech by CEO Art Thompson on the topic of “Exposing Terrorism: Inside the Terror Triangle.” The rally was created to protest federal closure of more and more roads that have previously provided access for the American people to enjoy public lands. Distributing announcements at such an event provides a prospect-rich environment for JBS members to meet people who feel that their rights are being violated by the federal government.

Speakers at the event included Congressman Rob Bishop, Senator Orrin Hatch, Senator Robert Bennett, former Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack, various leaders from agricultural organizations, and several state legislators.  I met personally with Congressman Bishop and explained to him the role of Senator Robert Bennett as U.S. President of the Transatlantic Policy Network. The Congressman wasn’t happy to hear about Senator Bennett’s role in this sovereignty-compromising group.

Members who are sponsoring the upcoming speech by Mr. Thompson in Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, and the San Fernando Valley will be working to invite local police chiefs, local sheriffs and their deputies, opinion molders, prospects, JBS members, TNA subscribers, and area businessmen.  As always, it’s the up-front outreach work and publicity that will bring success to these speaking events.

Northern California section leader Jan Frelick has been building a substantial Speakers Bureau Committee to help with the upcoming events planned for the greater Sacramento area.

In Mesa, Arizona, repetitive introductory meetings have been scheduled in large public meeting rooms to view such DVD offerings as Overview of America and Dollars & $ense.  Excellent leads have been derived from these educational meetings and attendance has been substantial.

Portland, Oregon members had an excellent information float in parades and distributed so many copies of “End the Fed” materials that they ran out as eager viewers reached out for more information about the organization generating our nation’s inflation.

Logan, Utah, JBS members and friends brought 75 people to an information meeting about the Federal Reserve System and sixty to a meeting about the Transatlantic Policy Network. Many leads have been garnered in this fashion for local JBS leaders to follow up with, and new friendships have been made with local leaders of other groups as well for further cooperative efforts at educating the public and mobilizing them to action.
