I'm hoping to unify a group of people from Alaska to work together on educational campaign projects with their Congressmen and State Legislators to restore America to its constitutional foundation, protect freedom, and preserve our prosperity by working in concert together.
If you haven't read William F. Jasper's excellent article, "Everyone's a Threat," in the May 11, 2009 issue of THE NEW AMERICAN magazine, I urge you to do so as it is a counter to the DHS report on "Rigthwing Extremism."
I urge all of you in Alaska to reach out to the top Alaska State Trooper in your borough, or in the AST Detachment covering the area where you live with a copy of the article or the magazine. Send a letter with the magazine urging the leader to read the article "Everone's a Threat" form the magazine.
Could someone also send the magazine and a letter introducing the article to Joseph A. Masters the Commissioner? You can research the Alaska State Troopers at : http://www.dps.state.ak.us/AST/abi/
The Alaska Bureau of Investigation (ABI) probably recieved the DHS propaganda report as well, so some of their leaders should get a copy of Bill Jasper's article.
If anyone wants a copy of the DHS report, please email me at btew@jbs.org
Alaska's Legislature and Governor Palin recently passed a resolution to inform the U.S. Congress that Alaska supports the Tenth Amendment and retains State sovereignty over those powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution.
Alaska has joined a growing list of states that have passed such Tenth Amendment resolutions since 2008, starting with Oklahoma. Now the question is: Will Alaska's Legislature and Governor actually enforce the Tenth Amendment upon Congress?
In 1995, Utah's Legislature passed HJR003, a House Joint Resolution telling congress that Utah wouldn't accept any more uncsontitutional mandates and would enforce the Tenth Amendment. Has the Utah Legislature, Utah State Attorney General's Office, and Utah Law enforcement enforced the Tenth Amendment since then? Not that I know of. But, it could, if it would! That's what federal district courts are for and the Supreme Court if a State has the gumption to go that route.
I hope you'll acquire a copy of the Resolution Gov. Palin just signed and write to your Legislators to urge them to enforce the resolution to enforce the Tenth Amendment. I encourage you to be active in urging the Legislators and Governor to do more than send a resolution, which is simply a letter, to Congress if they mean business.
