"Now desperate Republicans and their well-funded political allies are organizing angry mobs…. This mob activity is straight from the playbook of high-level Republican political operatives. They have no plan for moving our country forward, so they've called out the mob,” the DNC states in a web ad called “Enough of the Mob” that appeared last Wednesday. Other officials have repeated the claim that anger is being spread by special interest groups and has little to do with informed individuals voicing their concerns. “This mob ... did not come just to be heard, but to deny others the right to be heard. And this appears to be part of a coordinated, nationwide effort," said Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) as if “coordination” and “nationwide effort” were evil words. On July 23, 2007, Barack Obama said it was a “qualification to be president to be a community organizer.” Donny Ferguson, Libertarian National Committee spokesman, likely had that statement in mind when referring to Obama’s years as a community organizer for ACORN: “Libertarians find it ironic a community organizer is now using the government to try and stop people from organizing their communities.” This smear campaign against a majority of American citizens goes on to blame protesters, whom it paints as Republican plants, for the economic downfall and all the other problems of the Bush administration. “They've lost the confidence of the American people after eight years of failed policies that ruined our economy and cost millions of jobs,” states the ad. The truth is many of the protesters have nothing to do with the Republican Party. "We weren't coerced by the Republicans,” Shelly Colby, a Libertarian, told Fox News. “We came out on our own because we have real concerns about the bills.” Not to be outdone, Nancy Pelosi accused the angry voters of carrying "swastikas."
Has the sleeping giant, as embodied in the majority of previously silent Americans, finally woke up? Catherine Mullins is a free lance writer and essayist.

This is just fantastic!!!! Perhaps the people really are waking up. This is all the most encouraging thing I've read and heard about in a long, long time. And look who's calling names now: the "liberal" scum who would rule by force. Let's just hope it keeps going and gets bigger and bigger. |

Finally the sleeping giant is awakening ... Are they really stupid? How can they think the impotent Republican party has/had anything to do with this? Just the usual Dem. v. Rep. blame game they love to play. How could they miss the elephant in the room -- the independents, who are not only awake, they are FED UP? Oh that's right, we don't matter because we don't exist except when it's time to pay our taxes ... Yes, indeed, Danwhitehead1, people are definitely waking up ... and they are getting up on the RIGHT side of the bed. |

Neocons Yes the neocons have turned hateful because this is Custard's last stand. They have let every virtue of Americanism slip from their grasp and this is the only thing they stand for. They should've woken up years ago. |

Fight for Freedom as losing this to the Government will accelerate Big Brothers Plans Thank God American's are realizing that Big Brother wants full control. Whether it's Bush's military War machine or Obama's Social affairs takeover, we are slipping under total national government control. If Gov takes over health care, its just a matter of time until protestors are silenced in their sleep by the Secret Police exchanging a prescription pill for a deadly poison. |

We the People I was at Sen. Arlen Specter's Town Hall meeting in Lebanon, Pennsylvania this morning. Or tried to be. For a huge area of PA, they allowed only 250 people in. And the only ones allowed to ask questions were "those with cards." Obviously, pre-approved questioners, to drown out the public outcry and legitimate questions. I was locked out, though I got there early. I was with at least 600 others outside, and those against Obamacare outnumbered the liberals bussed in by at least 2 to 1. And, as a Constitution Party member, I surprised many who asked by telling them I had dropped out of the Republican and Democrat game years ago, and that I was no more pleased with Bush than with Obama. It's not about parties, it's about the Constitution, which almost all of them (falsely) swear to uphold. |
