Covering Copenhagen
by Gary Benoit, Editor, The New American
As just about everybody in the world now knows due to the incessant global-warming propaganda, the United Nations will be convening a summit of world leaders in Copenhagen this month to “negotiate” and presumably unveil a new treaty to replace Kyoto. Because of the significance of this internationalist confab, The New American will have two journalists there — TNA senior editor William F. Jasper and writer Alex Newman. The latter is an American citizen currently living in Sweden, where he regularly writes articles for TNA, particularly our online venue.
According to the establishment opinion cartel in America and abroad, the new Copenhagen treaty will supposedly be about reversing runaway global warming. In truth, as many Americans and others are beginning to realize, there is no global-warming problem — let alone a catastrophic crisis, as Al Gore and other environmental “Chicken Littles” claim. Of course, the fact that global temperatures have actually come down slightly over the last decade has cooled the concerns many rational people about the supposed global-warming threat. Also, many are beginning to discover or at least sense that the whole internationalist global-warming agenda is really not about saving the planet but about shackling it (and redistributing the world’s wealth) under an emerging world government.
At internationalist gatherings such as the Copenhagen Summit, movers and shakers will often talk more openly about their dangerous designs than they would to the public at large, recognizing that they are among friends and that the major media will put the best possible spin on their activities and objectives. For this reason, Bill Jasper and Alex Newman expect to pick up on a number of interesting admissions against interest, and also perhaps observe some machinations as well, that will not be reported by the mainstream media. In addition, the major media will likely give scant or no attention to the many credible scientific experts who are planning to be at Copenhagen to expose the global-warming hoax.
But TNA will be there, and we will have plenty to say about Copenhagen, both online and in our print publication. Stay tuned!
Our New “Freedom Index”
The second installment of the “Freedom Index” for the 111th Congress will appear in our December 7th issue. As our veteran readers know, this congressional scorecard uses the U.S. Constitution as the basis for rating how every member of the House and Senate votes on key issues.
Among the important votes included in the new index are the House votes on the cap-and-trade and healthcare “reform” bills — both gargantuan pieces of legislation that would do great damage to our country if enacted into law (the Senate has not voted on this legislation yet).
Please let your own U.S. representative and senators know what you think of their votes, inform others of their lawmakers’ voting records, and urge others to contact their elected officials as well.
