"Invictus" and the Truth About Mandela PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Invictus with Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, and Matt DamonOn television, and on billboards when driving down the streets of Los Angeles, the “hype” promoting the movie Invictus has become almost omnipresent.

This is a major production, sure to be favorited for the Oscars. In fact, the actors in the film are some of the best liked in the business, including Hollywood superstars Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. To top it off, the producer and director is none other than Clint Eastwood, the man who has enjoyed a conservative political image for years.

The film, as most of the world’s press and media have done over the past two decades, portrays Nelson Mandela as a benevolent leader, not only of South Africa, but of the world, having only the best interests of his people at heart.

The image of Mandela among Americans is a man who started out as a protestor of his government’s policy of apartheid only to find himself imprisoned for this peaceful protest. He has been welcomed and honored in almost every capitol around the world. He has had countless streets, parks, monuments, and schools names after him.

The “conservative” President George W. Bush awarded him the Medal of Freedom. Queen Elizabeth II knighted him. The Nobel Peace Prize committee awarded him their prize, just as they did Obama.

And, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics issued a commemorative stamp in his honor in 1988. This is a clue as to who Mandela really is.

There are many, many pictures showing Mandela at communist functions, standing below the hammer and sickle and giving the communist salute. Presiding over communist conventions and other events staged by the South African Communist Party.

These photographs never seemed to make it into The New York Times or Time magazine however. Americans have never been able to receive the entire story about the revolutions that take place overseas, be it in South Africa, Cuba, or Venezuela ― until it is too late. A variety of techniques have been used to deprive us of pertinent facts, but none have been more successful than simply not reporting or showing the facts. You do not need to twist the facts, only withhold the facts.

For in truth, Mandela is nothing more than a communist terrorist thug, placed in prison because he was about to launch a terrorist campaign against South Africans, aimed more against the black population than the white.

Indeed, while in prison Mandela’s then wife, Winnie, was screaming in every speech that they would use their necklaces and matches to further the revolution. This was a reference to the automobile tires that they placed over the heads of their victims, soaked in petrol and set ablaze while their anti-communist victims writhed in excruciating pain until death came after twenty minutes to an hour. This was a common occurrence.

Almost always, the victims of these communists were black Africans, the people they told the world that they were working to free. These acts were usually done in broad daylight, on the street to send a message to the black community: opposition to the communist revolution will be met with brutal reprisal.

This is not the grandfatherly image of Mandela given to the world by the media. It says more about the media than it does about Mandela.

And, it says more about Hollywood as well.

Even today, Americans can not be allowed by our controlled media to understand that South Africa has a communist government. Africa is rapidly going communist as are the nations south of our own border. We are being manipulated into keeping our eyes on the Middle East. The danger looms elsewhere.

Communism is really only dead in the minds of the American people. It is too bad that we do not see a reality show in television about that.

Thank you, Art Thompson
I was beginning to think I was the only person around who remembered Nelson Mandela for the thug he is. He was no more deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize than Yasser Arafat of Woodrow Wilson or Obama.

He most definitely is unworthy of the his portrayal in "Invictus". That is one (more) movie I won't bother watching.

The giving of the Nobel Peace Prize tells more about the Peace Prize Committee than it does about s/he who receives the prize.

Way to Go Mr. Thompson!
I picked up the friday editon of the Albuquerque Journal because it contains an insert that gives the listings of all the musical goings on in and around Albuquerque and Santa Fe. On the cover was the pitch for Invictus. I thought this will give me an opportunity to write another letter to the editor! I'll mention that the wimp Clint Eastwedge left out the part about the "necklace" and the fact that the ANC is controlled by filthy communists; that Madela should have been hanged for his treasonous actions but saved by the shadowy insiders who would later use him (after they had sufficiently martyred him) to promote the democratization (communization that is!) of Africa.

The myth-makers have turned his jail cell into a religious shrine! They tell us that he slept on the floor on a thin blanket and all that. The man was a communist for goodness sakes not a saint! Only saints sleep on bare floors since they disavow all worldly possessions in order to devote their lives to God. This Madela character is the most materialistic joker on the planet- the opposite that of a saint.

Well, maybe I've written my letter already! That was easy. I'll send it in to the Santa Fe Reporter since the Journal is going to publish one of my letters on another phony "peace lover"- Obama and his troop surgers.

Merry Christmas and peace on earth to all men of good will.

Yes indeed
Thank you, Mr. Thompson, for telling the truth. I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed with Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman, though I guess I shouldn't be. They are, after all, part of the Hollywood cabal; and Hollywood and truth have absolutely nothing in common.

Folks, we don't make this stuff up.
If you would like to begin the process of verification of anything said by Art Thompson you can start at the website of the South African Communist Party which highlights its long standing close relationship with Mandela's ANC.

Note the "Alliances" link to the ANC in the left hand column and also this quote from their history timeline:

1928 Communist Internationale 6th Congress: "the task of the South african communist is to transform the ANC 'into a fighting nationalist revolutionary organisation"

JBS and truth
I've been reading things from the JBS since the '80s and I've never, ever found anything to be untrue (unlike the "liberal" "unbiased" meida).

I always admired Morgan Freeman and Clint but I am disappointed in this movie. the moment I realized Matt Damon (liberal) was in it, I decided something was wrong and I was not going to see this movie. But then, I have stopped spending my money on Hollywood except for an occasional few movies I have seen.

I lost respect for Matt Damon when he openly said those crazy things about Sarah Palin, the Jerasic Park comment. He is a prime example of our "dumbed down" youth.

Hollywood is SCUM PERIOD! Actors are SCUM PERIOD, they are deviants. That is why they chose their profession. The performing arts IS and ALWAYS HAS been a profession for people of LOW character. Scammers, thieves, hucksters and frauds. Show me a Thespian and I will show you a Narcissistic Con-Artist who will do or say ANYTHING for fame, power and money. A hundred years ago people like Clint Eastwood, Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman would have not been revered as they are today simply because their faces are plastered on cinema screens and idiot boxes across America. They would have been viewed as Scalawags, Rogues, Wags, Scamps and brazen Ne'er-do-wells. People certainly wouldn't have been listening to their political propaganda and taking it as though it were gospel because it came from an actor. From an actor, are you kidding? A lowly stage performer? When around these people, at the very least, you watched your belongings if you had any common sense. They are still the same as they have always been, the only difference now, is that there are more rubes willing to let them into their wallets on a daily basis. Now they don't even have to scam the rubes, because they tell them WHAT and HOW to think! The rubes can't even begin to think for themselves anymore. There is no danger of being run out of town or wearing out a territory. The rubes just keep coming right on back every single day to willingly swallow more scams.

So stop supporting the snake oil peddlers in Hollywood, ALL OF THEM! You don't need Hollywood to entertain yourself. If you do, you need to re-examine yourself and work on your own issues. You have your own life, you don't need to PAY to watch some fraud who is a failure in his own private life, portray some character on screen that he is not. There is nothing more fake and dishonest than that my friends. It is not only fake and dishonest on their part, but on the consumers part as well.

Wrong wrong wrong
As a white South Africa, born in the 80's, eye witness to the freedoms that Nelson Mandela not only brought to the black people, but to the white people as well - you are terribly wrong sir.

Any man that can forgive, have the courage to lead an entire country (not just both sides) and make it through the atrocities of apartheid (something that can only be compared with the nazi regime) deserves all the respect you cannot afford him.

AlexP, and just what FREEDOMS would those be? Are they the farm seizures? The inherent political corruption of the ANC? The political violence against those who are against the ANC? The Necklacings of non communists? The calls for killing Boer? The ongoing discrimination against not only white South Africans but also against Black South Africans who are not with the ANC? The explosion of violence and ongoing slow genocide against the white farmers? Your rhetoric though fuzzy and warm, does not represent the true nature of South Africa since the ANC came to power. I might also remind you that Nelson Mandella was imprisoned NOT for terrorism against whites, but FELLOW BLACKS! To think, Old evil Appartheid trying to protect black citizens!! How Nazi-like. Alex P, I am on to your game. You do not go unnoticed. You are either a liar, a complete fool or a combination of both.

Joe Q, I can comment on each item if you'd like.

1) Farm seizures, you are thinking of Zimbabwe and not South Africa (there have been NO farm seizures)
2) Calls for killing the farmers were NOT made by the ANC or by Mandela, read PAC
3) Discrimination against people not with the ANC? I really don't know where you get this information from, maybe again thinking of Zimbabwe?
4) Violence against farmers, yes we have a major crime problem in South Africa.

You call me a liar/complete fool. Have you been to South Africa, have you spent a single day living in my shoes.

I think you will find the warmest and most positive people in the world living there, despite the AIDS and crime - which is more than I can say about this website.

sorry, I forgot the mention the freedoms that we now have

Before Apartheid we were all split, blacks needed passes to enter white areas and whites needed passes to enter black areas. We had no freedom of economy, no access to world wide media and a pretty extensive. State controlled information, propaganda, not even allowed to play sports against other countries.

Sounds almost....communist....

I implore you to visit my country before you speak with zero knowledge, YOU come across as a fool.

Unbelievable.
I find it unbelievable (well, perhaps not) that the JBS would launch such an attack on the movie in general and Mandela in particular. Anyone with ANY sense sees this attack for what it is. IGNORANCE in the first degree.

Where was the JBS during the oppression, subjugation, discrimination, illegal imprisonments, and mass murders of the South African Blacks? Where were there any words of support written or spoken by the JBS? Where was the outrage that there was no One Man-One Vote? Huh? Aren't you suppose to be about democracy?

When your people are being slaughtered and deprived of civil and basic human rights, you grasp the hand of anyone who is trying to help you.

"Communist Terrorist Thug"? Mandela? It just shows your out of your minds. No talk of the Botha's or the Apartheid machine/regime; just the demonization of Mandela.

Sick! Just sick!
