The Age of the Double Standard PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Harry Reid, Trent Lott, Bill ClintonWe live in a world of double standards.

There is the standard of what a socialist can say and do and then there is the standard of what a conservative or constitutionalist can say or do.

For instance, we have witnessed days of “ring around the rosy” about the comments of Senator Reid about Obama early in last year’s election. It seems that according to the liberal pundits, Reid was simply stating the obvious about the racial condition of America and there was no bias in his comments. There is no need to bother asking him to resign his post. Senator Trent Lott, on the other hand, well, he needed to go because he is a bigot for his similar comments.

Then there are the remarks made by Bill Clinton about Obama when he called Ted Kennedy to try to get his support for his wife, What’s Her Name. I guess the comments were not taken well by Ted.

We know too, from the recent publication of books on the latest election, that What’s Her Name is just as concerned about her husband of many years as the rest of the sane world. Even setting up a “war room within a war room” to contain the problems Bill presented.

And here I thought divorce was common among liberals. What do I know? Then again, maybe what husbands and wives do in liberal marriages do not rise to the level of concern that they do in conservative households.

Another interesting thing is that we have had more than one incident of liberal politicians shooting intruders with guns they had in their homes. It seems that while liberals vote against gun ownership by the dangerous American citizen, the same standard does not apply for them. The latest example is State Senator R. C. Soles of North Carolina. He votes against general gun ownership, but has a problem with someone trying to take his gun ownership away.

Hmm, reminds one of Germany in the 1930s. Civilian gun ownership: bad. Party member gun ownership: good.

Its "days of phew" all over again.

...
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

I can't even count
The number I've times I've stated that "liberals" lie, steal, deal in confusion and double standards. I've never had anything but utter contempt for the "what's your is mine and what's mine is mine alone" stance of the "liberals". They really are awful, dreadful and even frightening.
