guns and ammunition salesCall it a case study in the law of unintended consequences.

In the age of “Hope and Change,” Americans are afraid of, well, a lot of things. An imploding economy, massive federal bailouts for Insiders, loss of jobs, loss of homes, threats of skyrocketing tax rates, threats of deadly infectious diseases, collectivization of health care, and elected representatives who give every appearance of having taking their phones off the hook when it comes to responding to the concerns of the people who placed them in office are only a few of the highlights when it comes to things keeping folks up at night.

But there’s one bright spot on the economic horizon — one area besides federal employment which is showing some stunning vitality: Firearms and ammunition.

2010: Year of the Third Party PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Doug HoffmanYesterday, Doug Hoffman set the stage and turned the tide with his race for NY-23.  Naysayers--Democrats and Republicans alike--will argue the point saying, “But he lost!”  YEAH-sayers will wisely counter with, “But he almost won!”  Hoffman’s run should serve as a green light for third parties; as a call to Everyman.  America needs honest candidates with strong ethical principles, and in 2010 HONOR will have its best chance to make a comeback.

Remember typing class from way back when? “Now is the time for all good men [and women] to come to the aid of their country.”  The time is certainly now.  If Americans will accept the challenge of reclaiming America; of putting it back on its Founding Principles, then this coming year--November 2009 through November 2010--will become the Year of the Constitution, as well as the Year of the Third Party

Thanks to Doug Hoffman, citizens now have proof that one person can make a difference; can see the opportunity to save America.  I encourage everyone to leave your disappointing alliances with Tweedle-Dem and Tweedle-Pub, and join an honorable third party.  Get involved; run for offices at every level; campaign with Tea Party vigor, intent, and confidence.  Third parties can only offer strong and viable candidates when good people join them and work together to achieve goals.  If saving America and reinstating its fine constitution are not worthy goals, then nothing much matters anymore.

Vaclav Klaus talks signs the EU Lisbon TreatyThe last ‘Euroskeptic’ President in Europe, Vaclav Klaus of the Czech Republic, has surrendered to the seemingly-inevitable and signed the Lisbon Treaty, thus committing his nation to this sad, strange chapter of European history.

Klaus has few doubts about what the Lisbon Treaty means for his nation; thus he delayed signing the treaty until the nation’s high court proclaimed it was compatible with the republic’s constitution. Despite the court’s declaration, Klaus maintained the treaty means the end of the republic’s sovereignty. According to an article at the Wall Street Journal’s website:

In Prague, Mr. Klaus said that while he expected and respected the court's decision, he "absolutely" doesn't agree with it. "The Czech Republic will cease to be a sovereign state" after the Treaty comes into effect, he said. The court's decision dismissed arguments filed in September by a group of Czech senators allied to the president.

Climate Change Conference Update 2 PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Climate change and Global WarmingThe redistributionist plans intended for the upcoming UN Conference on Climate Change have run into a substantial sticking point: Giving away billions of dollars is not popular when you are broke — unless you are the recipient, of course.

As highlighted in a previous article, the European haggling over who is going to pay, and how much they will be paying, has become a bone of contention in the remaining weeks before the Copenhagen conference. A fundamental element of the agreement which is intended to take the place of the Kyoto Protocol is that it will provide massive — almost incomprehensible — transfers of cash from the First World to the Third World. These transfers are supposed to offset the cost for poorer nations to “go green” as the UN oversees the transformation of the global economy.

The UN’s estimate of the ‘need’ is $100 billion per year. As the Guardian.co.uk is now reporting, the European Union is now squabbling over which EU countries will be responsible for covering Europe’s portion of the tab:
