From the West

by Bliss Tew, Regional Field Director

The 100/10/6 program is ideal for implementing our Choose Freedom — STOP Obamacare campaign at the Chapter level. Every member should inform opinion with the truth by reaching out to 100 members of the public at large, 10 opinion molders, and 6 prospects for membership. This campaign can unite a wide group of Americans even outside of The John Birch Society to support nullification of Public Law 111-148, also known as ObamaCare.

When all active members of the JBS educate themselves first, then reach out to 100 households in the community with such educational items as our three slim jims (see August Bulletin), we will begin to change the public’s discussion at the grassroots level.

As each JBS chapter across America stimulates its members to reach out to state legislators and local opinion molders (radio talk show hosts, business owners, doctors, healthcare professionals, Tea Party leaders, etc.) with distribution of our May 10 “ObamaCare and You!” issue of TNA or with the ObamaCare 101 DVD and an accompanying letter, then a synergy of informed opinion opposing the grossly misnamed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will develop. This is what is needed throughout the nation.

Couple these efforts to reach households and opinion molders with an effort to develop understanding among prospective members. In the August Bulletin, Jim Fitzgerald pointed out that four medical doctors will be available for speaking engagements across America. These events need immediate attention by members. After arranging for one of these speakers, invitations should be sent to local doctors, dentists, and other healthcare professionals to attend a speech. Where a speaking event is not practical, showings of the ObamaCare 101 DVD should be arranged.
