U.K. Journalist Delingpole Tweaks Climatists in Media, Politics (Video)

James Delingpole, longtime columnist at The Daily Telegraph and now executive editor of Breitbart.com/London, discusses the irrationality, corruption and harmful affects of the global warming agenda.

British journalist/novelist/columnist/broadcaster James Delingpole has been making waves for many years, most notably, perhaps, through his widely-read pieces for The Daily Telegraph. A talented wordsmith, perceptive analyst, and witty pundit, he is particularly noted for regularly skewering the horrendously costly, destructive, and anti-science global warming policies championed by the establishment politicians and media of the UK and EU.

Among the books he has authored are: The Little Green Book of Eco-Fascism: The Left’s Plan to Frighten Your Kids, Drive Up Energy Costs, and Hike Your Taxes!(2013); Watermelons: How Environmentalists are Killing the Planet, Destroying the Economy and Stealing Your Children's Future (2012); 365 Ways to Drive a Liberal Crazy (2011); and, Welcome to Obamaland: I Have Seen Your Future and It Doesn't Work (2009).

Delingpole describes himself as a “libertarian conservative” who is now “eagerly seeking ways to escape David Cameron’s neo fascist Big Society Britain.” He was recently named the executive editor of the Breitbart.com/London office, from which he oversees what he described to The New American as the Breitbart “outpost” for Europe.

Delingpole sat down for an interview with The New American at the Heartland Institute’s 9th International Conference on Climate Change in Las Vegas, Nevada, which he was covering for Breitbart.com. He was also a speaker at the conference and introduced Austrian rap artist Kilez More (see video here), who performed his global warming skeptic song for the attendees.

Delingpole says he is not uncomfortable participating in the climate debate, even though as a non-scientist layman he is sometimes dismissed as “unqualified” to discuss the finer technical points of the science issues involved. Because “the fact is that this is a political debate,” he notes. “It’s ultimately about money, about political control, about a view of the world.” He finds the misanthropy that is so prevalent among the leadership of the environmental activists — that views humanity as a “cancer” upon Nature — especially repellent. It is this pernicious attitude and view of the world, he says, that underlies the immoral and deadly climate polices which are denying the world’s poorest people access to the cheap sources of hydrocarbon energy that could lift them out of dire poverty, disease, and starvation.
