My original interest in the JBS came from hearing Charlie Smith on a televised "Meet the Press" interview in Orlando, Fl in the early 1970's. I intended to contact someone then, but before I acted on that decision, I was transferred by my company, Penn Life, to Jackson, MS, where I have remained until now. In 1978, I called on JBS Coordinator Bob Wells, and he invited me to a meeting where my wife, Mary and I both joined the John Birch Society. We have remained active since that time.

I am currently Regional Director for Pennsylvania Life Insurance Company, with offices in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia. I serve as Chairman of the Board of Stewards at Riverside Independent Methodist Church, and as the Treasurer for the international Association of Independent Methodists. I am also an active member of the Jackson-Madison Camp of the Gideons International.
