COMMENTARY:

Judicial Watch – a public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption – has recently released documents from a secret North American Forum meeting that was held in Banff, Canada in September 2006. The documents were attained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) from U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM).
As Judicial Watch noted on its website, "The North American Forum presentations discussed immigration and border enforcement; full economic and energy integration including infrastructure and transportation; a North American investment fund; and common customs and duties." Additionally, according to the documents obtained by Judicial Watch,
The notes for the presentations document the need to overcome popular opposition to North American integration: "To what degree does a concept of North America help/hinder solving problems between the three countries?... While a vision is appealing working on the infrastructure might yield more benefit and bring more people on board ('evolution by stealth')."
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton remarked: "It is not encouraging to see the phrase 'evolution by stealth' in reference to important policy debates such as North American integration and cooperation." It certainly isn't.
However, as more Americans force into the open this "evolution by stealth," those who are promoting it will be forced to admit that the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) and the developing North American Union are not simply an "economic" agreement among the participating countries but an EU-like merger of three sovereign nations.
