John Birch Society’s “Stealing the American Dream” outlines the pitfalls of illegal immigration amnesty
JBS President John F. McManus reveals the troubling background of illegal immigration in new speaking tour covering nearly 40 venues

APPLETON, WIS.—March 25, 2010—“Stealing the American Dream: How Illegal Immigration Affects You!,” a new John Birch Society speaking tour beginning April 5, reveals how illegal immigration continues to spiral out of control since the last amnesty legislation that promised to stem illegal immigration and how new amnesty legislation will only entice more illegal border crossings.

altJBS President John F. McManus will be headlining the nearly 40-venue speaking tour. He writes in The New American “…if current [immigration] laws were enforced, there would be millions of jobs for legal citizens, and all that’s needed for the federal government to adhere faithfully to laws that already exist. Doing so would solve not only the illegal immigration problem but much of the unemployment problem as well.”

McManus claims that illegal immigration continues to present numerous problems for the country. His message stands in sharp contrast to numerous promises that past amnesty programs would solve them. He maintains that new amnesty legislation will only entice more illegal border crossings.

A companion DVD written and narrated by McManus will be available during the presentations. “Constitution Si, Amnesty No!” demonstrates how illegal immigration has not ceased, that its harmful impacts continue to be felt, and how amnesty is not a responsible path to citizenship. “Constitution Si, Amnesty No!” is an update to his 2006 DVD, Immigration Invasion.

“Illegal aliens do themselves and their families a large disservice by choosing to come to this country illegally,” McManus says. “Citizenship is a wonderful privilege. Over the years, millions of legal immigrants have responsibly and respectively attained full citizenship status by learning our language, understanding our governmental system and happily assimilating. Illegal immigrants should not be rewarded for breaking immigration laws.”

McManus is the President of The John Birch Society, publisher of The New American magazine, publisher of the JBS Bulletin and author of several books. Before joining the Society’s staff in the 1960s, he served on active duty as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Founded in 1958 and headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, The John Birch Society is dedicated to restoring and preserving freedom under the U.S. Constitution. Members come from all walks of life and are active throughout the 50 states on local, regional and national issues. United by a strong belief in personal freedom and limited government, members have a strong sense of duty, and their educational efforts have played a continuous and pivotal role in exposing legislation and policies that threaten the independence of our country and the freedom of American citizens.
