Last week, the Texas Republican Party Convention, the largest political gathering in the world, convened in Fort Worth, Texas, with an estimated 6,000 to 7,000 delegates in attendance. While the event ended Saturday without any of the physical violence that has accompanied some state conventions, still the marked differences between the establishment Republicans and the emerging younger grassroots conservative activists were clear.

 As governments and dictators around the world prepare for the upcoming “Rio+20” United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, the establishment press is hyping — rather than questioning — a dubious new UN report claiming that humanity’s failure to adopt so-called “sustainability” schemes threatens the Earth. Among the global entity’s controversial recommendations: less people, less consumption, “lifestyle modifications,” and a “shift” toward new “equity-based values.”

The United Nations will be pushing for an expansion of its already powerful global environmental agency at this year's Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, June 20-22. The United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) will be renamed the UN Environmental Organization (UNEO) and promoted to the level of a “specialized agency,” giving it more authority and allowing it to receive more funding.

Lawmakers in Kansas are considering a strongly worded resolution condemning a controversial United Nations “sustainability” scheme known as Agenda 21, saying the global plan is a “dangerous” attack on private property rights, individual liberty, and national sovereignty. The measure comes amid a growing battle against the global “sustainable development” agenda by state legislatures, local governments and activists all across America.
