While President Obama travels around the United States touting “green energy” as the solution to the nation’s spiraling energy costs, the wind farms of the Pacific Northwest are proving once again that alternative energy sources are having a hard time living up to the praise lavished on them.

To purportedly tame the progressive rise in gas prices, President Obama visited a North Carolina truck manufacturer on Wednesday to unveil a new $1 billion plan to advocate electric and alternative vehicles through consumer incentives and federal grants for states.
The Obama administration continues to deflect blame over soaring gas prices, and conservatives and congressional Republicans have been quick to excoriate the President for his costly environmental measures. President Obama’s energy policies, critics allege, have prompted not only an increasingly heavy burden at the gas pump, but also are shaping a progressive rise in Americans’ electric bills.

According to CSN News March 2, House Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) has again introduced legislation to repeal all energy tax credits. H.R. 3308, The Energy Freedom and Economic Prosperity Act was first introduced in the House last May by Pompeo. The legislation is now under review in the House Ways and Means Committee, and a Senate version was introduced by Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) and Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) earlier this month.
The scandal known as “Fakegate,” perpetrated by prominent global warming activist/scientist Peter Gleick, continues to reverberate. Gleick has taken a leave of absence from his position as president of the Pacific Institute for Studies in Development, Environment, and Security, and the Institute’s board has announced that it is conducting an investigation of the Fakegate affair. While some of Gleick’s climate activist confreres have decried his unethical actions and have bemoaned the fact that it is already further undermining public confidence in the claims of global warming alarmists, others are cheering and applauding Gleick’s actions as justified and heroic.
The Senate could vote on an amendment to extend the Wind Energy Credit as early as March 1.
According to a new report by The Heritage Foundation, the White House handed out "administrative earmarks" to Democratic legislators to sway them to vote for major legislative efforts such as cap-and-trade and the healthcare overhaul.
