Beware of Article V: Understanding the Dangers of a Constitutional Convention, Wayne, NJ
Monday 23 May 2016, 07:00pm

Change the Constitution – or DESTROY the Constitution?

There are two ways to modify the U.S. Constitution – by amendment or constitutional convention. The amendment method has been used successfully 27 times. But a constitutional convention, or a “con-con,” has NEVER been used since the Constitution was ratified, and with good reason:

Once set in motion, a con-con cannot be stopped or controlled. There is no mechanism to ensure a representative selection of delegates at a con-con, which can lead to a runaway convention and put the Constitution into the hands of those who want to radically change it – or destroy it altogether.

A presentation by John F. McManus, the author of numerous books and articles and serves as publisher of the New American magazine and President Emeritus of The John Birch Society.  His clearly written and spoken words have helped many Americans to understand and combat our nation’s self-defeating policies.
