The wait is now over, the four-page Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) memo has been revealed to the public. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and Democrats are now in the negative spotlight because of it. Even with the 2016 presidential elections being done and over with, fingers continued to be pointed towards all sorts of malpractices with no one taking accountability for their actions.
So how is this any different than everyday good ol’ American politics? What was the purpose of President Trump declassifying the memo? The FISA memo
specifies its purpose:
Our findings, which are detailed below, 1) raise concerns with the legitimacy and legality of certain DOJ and FBI interactions with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC), and 2) represent a troubling breakdown of legal processes established to protect the American people from abuses related to the FISA process.
Not only did House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes’ (R-Calif.) memo reveal some of the Obama administration’s surveillance abuses in the White House, it also made the American public aware of the unconstitutional FISA process.
Being involved with the DOJ and the FBI grants those in charge with a great deal of power. The problem that comes with having power is the temptation to abuse it. “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely,” said Lord Acton, being exactly right. Even before the memo was released
there was cause for concern that those involved in the Deep State would attempt to discredit the memo. But those in the House who had viewed the memo beforehand, expressed the need to make it public.
And good thing that they did, We the People need to be holding the government accountable or it will continue to grow more and more unaccountable. This Deep State, an invisible government that exerts behind-the-scenes influence over the visible government, will continue to gain unconstitutional control over American citizens’ lives unless it is exposed.
How do we expose it? Through education! The John Birch Society CEO Art Thompson shared his view on what is needed to create sufficient understanding:
All we need is to enlist enough good people into doing something effective to stop them. Not just anything, but engaging in concerted education and action under national leadership, education, and action designed to negate the agenda of this cabal — which we dare call a conspiracy.
Take Action today!
