The John Birch Society has been saying it for years, “Get US Out! of the United Nations.” All with good reason: the United Nations threatens our Second Amendment rights, places us under internationally-based environmental mandates to combat “climate change,” advances mass migration, wastes U.S. taxpayers’ dollars on UN military “peacekeeping” schemes, and is leading us down the path towards a one-world government.
With a globalist mission strikingly adverse to our constitutional Republic and our American values, ending U.S. membership in the United Nations becomes imperative to save our sovereignty. That’s why it is ever so important to support Representative Mike Rogers’ (R-Ala.) reintroduced-bill, H.R. 204, the American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2019
, which would end all U.S. involvement in the United Nations. Rep. Rogers reintroduced the bill
as one of his first priorities in the new Congress. He correctly explained:
The United Nations is no friend of the United States, our allies, or our values of liberty and limited government under the Constitution, and furthermore is utterly incompatible with American sovereignty.
Cosponsors of H.R. 204 include Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Az.). Massie has actively supported exiting the United Nations (Amexit) ever since the United Kingdom voted to exit the European Union with Brexit in 2016. In replying to why, he answered:
“In one word, Sovereignty: As a member of the UN, we bind our citizens to decisions made by undemocratic countries, when in fact our Constitution should be the Supreme Law.”
Massie and Rogers have it exactly right! Anyone who values freedom, liberty, and limited government would not be a fan of what the UN has in store for their life. Our precious Declaration of Independence would be replaced with the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights, putting security and global regulations over happiness and freedom.
This past year, President Trump confirmed to the UN General Assembly that the U.S. “rejects the ideology of globalism!” The Trump administration made some commendable efforts in 2018 by ending participation in the Global Compact on Migration, exiting the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and withdrawing from the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC). Still that is not enough! The UN’s influence is still deeply rooted in American politics and must be stopped.
This legislation (H.R. 204) still faces an uphill battle. Do you know where your representative and senators stand on the issue? Show them that exiting the UN would save the U.S. billions of taxpayers’ dollars and preserve our constitutional Republic. We thank Rogers for introducing this bill! Now we just need to inform the rest in Congress and the President.
