Democratic Presidential hopefuls debated last week fighting to take a stand against President Trump for the 2020 elections, but one essential topic was missing: the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement). Despite encouragement from Vice President Mike Pence, Democrats are holding off on agreeing to schedule a vote on the USMCA due to certain provisions and concerns with the deal regarding climate, labor, enforcement, and more. And for now – we’re okay with that.
Come autumn though, The John Birch Society will hopefully have convinced enough in the House of Representatives, so that Congress does not pass this sovereignty-destroying deal. It is paramount that we do so in order to secure our God-given rights and liberties. If we can stop the passage of the USMCA and eliminate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the United States can return to what the founders had in mind for our country: Limited government.
USMCA Expands Government Regulations
Contrary to what many have promoted with the USMCA, it does not have America’s best interest in mind. The New American
writer Christian Gomez does an excellent job covering why the USMCA brings about a North American Union.
Check out his article, “USMCA and the Quest for a North American Union” for even more details. He digs deeper on how the Council on Foreign Relations has been working to build a “North American Community” for at least since 2005, and why would they turn down an opportunity to use the USMCA as a way to integrate the three countries together? The answer – they wouldn’t.
A North American Union would tie Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. together. The three countries would share data for entry and exit of foreign nations, law enforcement officers, immigration and refugee policies, and enhance a North American Development Bank. Tying together these countries would bring in criminals, uncertainty, and unchecked travel and would only open the door for the political systems to overlap. Government was originally established to secure our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness – not to provide for our every need. The USMCA would create an overpowering, uncontrollable, regional governing bureaucracy overseeing North America.
Time is ticking on the USMCA!
Vice President Mike Pence has recently stated:
“The clock is ticking. Canada has already begun to make it through the legislative process; Mexico has already begun making changes that we asked for.” He continued, “We believe if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi brings it to the floor it will pass.” Meaning, there is no time to waste!
Have you met with your representative and senators to encourage them to vote NO on the USMCA? This August recess is the perfect opportunity, let’s not waste it! Remind them that the USMCA expands what NAFTA started, surrenders independence to a regional governing bureaucracy, dictates employer relations, could wipe out America’s entire cattle industry
, threatens our rights as secured by the U.S. Constitution, and accelerates the merger of a North American Union.
If you can’t meet with them be sure to phone your representative (202-225-3121) and Senators (202-224-3121) and encourage them to vote NO on any USMCA implementation bill.
