Stay Out of TPP: Protect American Sovereignty
APPLETON, Wis. – April 20, 2018 – President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) on his first full working day in office, citing a desire to protect American workers. Last week Trump expressed a willingness to rejoin the multinational trade agreement, and then he appeared to change his mind again days later. The John Birch Society believes that the best deal the President can make to protect American independence and liberties is to oppose being part of the TPP and all trade deals that diminish American sovereignty.
Trade deals such as TPP and NAFTA are an attack on American sovereignty and become stepping stones to an unaccountable, destructive regional government, such as the European Union and the proposed North American Union (NAU).
Founded in 1958 and headquartered in Appleton, Wis., The John Birch Society is dedicated to restoring and preserving freedom under the U.S. Constitution. Members come from all walks of life and are active throughout the 50 states on local, state, and national issues. United by a strong belief in personal freedom and limited government, members have a strong sense of duty, and their educational efforts have played a continuous and pivotal role in exposing legislation and policies that threaten the independence of America and the freedom of citizens.
