Stay Out of TPP: Protect American Sovereignty

APPLETON, Wis. – April 20, 2018 – President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) on his first full working day in office, citing a desire to protect American workers. Last week Trump expressed a willingness to rejoin the multinational trade agreement, and then he appeared to change his mind again days later. The John Birch Society believes that the best deal the President can make to protect American independence and liberties is to oppose being part of the TPP and all trade deals that diminish American sovereignty.

Trade deals such as TPP and NAFTA are an attack on American sovereignty and become stepping stones to an unaccountable, destructive regional government, such as the European Union and the proposed North American Union (NAU).

Writing for The New American, Alex Newman describes the dangers of the TPP in his recent article “After Exiting Anti-Sovereignty TPP ‘Rape’ of U.S., Trump Waffles.” He cites the surrender of U.S. sovereignty and the threat to self-government as the biggest threats to the United States.
