John Birch Society President to Hold Class at 2010 March on DC
John McManus will teach Dollars & $ense, Solutions to the Economic Meltdown

APPLETON, WIS.—September 3, 2010—John McManus, President of The John Birch Society, will be teaching a class on sound money during the first day of the 2010 March on DC that runs September 9-12. “Dollars & $ense, Solutions for the Economic Meltdown” will be presented on Thursday, September 9, 11:00-11:50 AM., at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington, DC.

The John Birch Society has been educating people on the merits of sound money since its inception. Sound money takes away the power to inflate and manage money, something that can be handled by the free market. Money management by the Federal Reserve has brought down the value of the dollar by 95 percent, since its creation. This mismanagement has led to severe market swings, the literal thievery of money through inflation and the creation of money out of thin air.

On the converse, sound money keeps its value, cannot be easily inflated and has led to economic prosperity. “When money is a commodity chosen by the marketplace, money manipulators cannot succeed in saddling a populace with inflation and debt, stealing their wealth in the process,” said McManus. “America’s Founding Fathers had their experience with inflation that almost destroyed the nation as it was being created. They emphatically sought to block it from ever again occurring again via the U.S. Constitution.”

Those attending “Dollars & $ense” will have the opportunity to purchase books and DVDs written by McManus. He will also participate in book signings at Author’s Row during the event.

McManus is the President of The John Birch Society, publisher of The New American magazine, publisher of the JBS Bulletin and author of several books, including “Financial Terrorism: Hijacking America Under the Threat of Bankruptcy” (1993). Before joining the Society’s staff in the 1960s, he served on active duty as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

The 2010 March on DC is not just a rally, rather it is four days of freedom-promoting events that aims to educate, inform and inspire all who attend. The March on DC and associated events are grassroots—the leadership consists of members from some of the country’s largest independent conservative-minded organizations. All those involved in the planning of this event are non-partisan volunteers who share the common goal of unifying constitutional patriots to preserve liberty and the Constitutional principles upon which this nation was founded. This is an event of the people, by the people and for the people—it is We the People United in Action.

Founded in 1958 and headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, The John Birch Society is dedicated to restoring and preserving freedom under the U.S. Constitution. Members come from all walks of life and are active throughout the 50 states on local, regional and national issues. United by a strong belief in personal freedom and limited government, members have a strong sense of duty, and their educational efforts have played a continuous and pivotal role in exposing legislation and policies that threaten the independence of our country and the freedom of American citizens.
